چکیده
In the present study, fatigue behavior and tensile strength of A6061-T4 aluminum alloy, joined by friction stir spot welding (FSSW), are numerically investigated. The 3D finite element model (FEM) is used to analyze FSSW joint means Abaqus software. determined for joints with both a probe hole refilled hole. order calculate life joints, hysteresis loop first determined, then plastic strain amplitude calculated. Finally, using Coffin-Manson equation, predicted. results were verified against available experimental data from other literature, good agreement was observed between FEM data. showed that joint’s without (refilled hole) higher than Therefore, re-filling an effective method structures jointed subjected static load. re-filled nearly same as structure at low applied loads. متن کاملTensile properties and fracture locations of friction-stir-welded joints of 2017-T351 aluminum alloy
Friction stir welding (FSW) is a new and promising welding process that can produce low-cost and high-quality joints of heat-treatable aluminum alloys because it does not need consumable filler materials and can eliminate some welding defects such as crack and porosity. In order to demonstrate the friction stir weldability of the 2017-T351 aluminum alloy and determine optimum welding parameters...
متن کاملCoupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) Modeling of Material Flow in Dissimilar Friction Stir Welding of Aluminum Alloys
In this work, the finite element simulation of dissimilar friction stir welding process is investigated. The welded materials are AA 6061-T6 and AA 7075-T6 aluminum alloys. For this purpose, a 3D coupled thermo-mechanical finite element model is developed according to the Coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian (CEL) method. The CEL method has the advantages of both Lagrangian and Eulerian approaches, whic...
